in Pencil Music

I love Dave Grohl. I’ll listen to anything he does. Put him behind a kit, and I’m like a drunk sorority girl at Daytona Beach. Well maybe that’s a bad analogy, but Grohl on drums provides the right mix of excitement and nostalgia that I’m looking for. (probably because I’m old) I’m sure my dad felt the same way when George Harrison released “Set on You” in the ’80s. It’s just the natural course of things. That, and frequent urination…ANYWAY….John Paul-Jones on Bass hits another soft spot in my memory, and Josh Homme makes it more interesting, simply because I’m not as obsessed with his former bands (Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Eagles of Death Metal) as I am with the other two. So, I’m not really sure if ‘Them Crooked Vultures’ is awesome or not, because I’m biased toward this super group. I can tell you is they’re not as disappointing as ‘Audioslave.’ Enjoy….
