The Heavy at 92 Y Tribeca
Last night The Heavy played their last show in NYC during their tour from the UK. I have to say this band has some very unique elements, and a lot going for them. I bought their album “The House That Dirt Built” and really enjoy it.
Tracks like “How You Like Me Now” and “Short Change Hero” were awesome live. I was hoping for a bit more guitar work last night – some killer leads and bit of a more electric live show that deviates from the album… but this band is young, and trying to get their sound out in the states. Given the circumstances, the shorter more compact show made sense.
I neglect to admit that the live show was not as exciting as the album, but still a helluva good time. Rumor has it they are on Letterman tomorrow night.
Spencer Page on bass was killer, and one of the highlights of the show. Here’s a short clip:
