Foo Fighters + Special Guest Joan Jett at Madison Square Garden

Epic badassness occured at MSG Sunday night when the rest of the world was probably lying in bed preparing for the usual Monday stress test. That was all but forgotten when Grohl and the Foo lit up the night with a non-stop, kick-your-effin-ass 3 hour set. I managed to snap this iphone pic when Grohl came storming out into the crowd.

The new album came alive on stage, and having been a Foo fan since the beginning, I have to say I think it’s one of the best albums so far. The songs are even more hard hitting in concert…

But it wasn’t just the new album and the old favorites that the Foo broke out. The first cover was Pink Floyd’s “In The Flesh”.

Then came a rockin rendition of Tom Petty’s “Breakdown”. And to top the night off, none other than Joan Jett was invited on stage as a surprise guest.

ROCK AND ROLL IS ALIVE AND WELL!

Here’s a few more…

Baked in Telluride Burns

Last night one of Telluride’s famous bakeries burned to the ground. Very sad, this was one of my favorite spots – a local hang out. We even wrote a song referencing it when we were kids in high school, and here it is:

The Heavy at 92 Y Tribeca

Last night The Heavy played their last show in NYC during their tour from the UK. I have to say this band has some very unique elements, and a lot going for them. I bought their album “The House That Dirt Built” and really enjoy it.

Tracks like “How You Like Me Now” and “Short Change Hero”… Continue reading

American Museum of Natural History, Fischerspooner

The American Museum of Natural History kicked off their first Friday parties this weekend, with an awesome gathering. We partied, checked out the planetarium with Tom Hanks’ narrating, and danced to some great DJ’s. Fischerspooner really got the party bumping, those guys were awesome.

Unfortunately, some guy from Animal Collective came on next, and totally killed the party… Continue reading

3rd Ward Holiday Party

So there were quite a few DJ’s on the second floor where the majority of partying took place. Not sure which DJ this is, but there were DJ’s Kimyon, Zemi 17, Sweedish Meetballs and Morphous on the bill, so I assume it was one of those. Anyway, these techno synth beats had the crowd totally amped up.

If you want to attend these events in the future… Continue reading
